Having ‘the talk’ with your teen
Hey parents. Have you had ” the talk” with your teen yet? No, I don’t mean that talk. But there’s another one that is almost as important these days. I’m referring to the talk about staying safe with smartphones and social-media activity. Haven’t done that yet? If you’ve been putting it off because you don’t know what to cover, I’m here to help. SKIDEKIDS, Social Network for Kids, Gaining Support from Parents
Jumping right into 2011 with both feet, Skid-e-Kids Networks (http://www.skid-e-kids.com) has emerged as the Facebook and MySpace social networking alternative for kids, ages 6 to 14. Skid-e-Kids kicked off 2011 with their newly redesigned website, flourishing with added features, like the Movie night, Toys Swap, Skid-e-Tube, and fully operated educational page. The new website is designed similar to Facebook, so kids can have the same experience of Facebook, without actually being on Facebook.
Marian Davidson -- Canada
My daughter is having so much fun on, I think she should be the one to tell it. There is no other social networking site for kids with fun activities like the Movie night, Toys Swap, Skid-e-tube and Parents dashboard. Evelyn said it's like being in an amusement park.
Gary Slovak -- Michigan
As a father and someone in the law enforcement community, I definitely would recommend skid-e-kids to all parents.

In some cases, I know the girls' mothers, and frankly, they're not very nice. They are all very pretty,…

Teasing and Bullying: No Laughing Matter!
Know the facts about bullying — even if you don’t think it affects your child. Unfortunately, teasing is often part of growing up — almost every child experiences it. It can be verbal (making threats, name-calling), psychological (excluding children, spreading rumors), or physical (hitting, pushing,…
